Puppy Information
Prospective buyers are interviewed (via a completed application, telephone and e-mail) to be sure the home is a proper home for a Swedish Vallhund. Part of the qualifications for a buyer is as follows:
A properly fenced in yard
Financially capable of taking care of the dog
Willing to do motivational training and socialize the dog outside its new home
Willing to sign a contract stating they will return the dog to me if they find they can no longer keep the dog.
Willing to learn about the new healthy schedule for vaccinations
Willing to spay/neuter when specified
Willing to stay in contact with us and provide growth pictures to help us choose the "right" dogs for future breedings
Willing to keep the "future companion" on a healthy diet of super premium foods or raw diet
Willing to have dogs' (pet and breeding prospects) eye health checked with a veterinary opthalmologist
With each puppy I give a packet, which includes:
Health records
Pedigree
Pictures of sire and dam and the puppy, littermates
Contract (available for viewing before actually buying the pup)
Suggested reading
Information on the breed
Suggested obedience trainer in their area
Copy of temperament test and explanation
Training book (sent after deposit is received)
Various Web Site Listings
Two toys
Collar
We also offer other "helps", such as transportation from and to the airport if needing to fly in for your pup!
NOTE: When looking for a breed, which is still "rare", it is best to be on a waiting list. I do put people on a waiting list, and then when a breeding is about to take place, I notify people and see if they are still interested. Deposits are taken AFTER an ultra sound is done and I know there are pups coming!
